Reporting birds struck by turbines made easier by SNH
Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH)has made it easier for the public to report birds struck by wind turbines. An email including the date, bird’s species and location of the strike should be sent to Collision.Records”snh.gov.uk. SNH has said that several “high profile” incidents led to the move, including the death of a rare white-throated needletail on the Western Isles in June this year. Peter Hutchinson of SNH said: “We will use the data collected to investigate links between migration routes, nesting sites and other patterns.”
