Entries now being sought for 2014 Purdey Awards
The Purdey Awards, which have been held annually since 1999, promote game conservation work on shoots across the UK, rewarding those shoots which are able to demonstrate outstanding shoot and habitat improvement projects.
Entrants to the Purdey Awards should be able to demonstrate to judges how their work has improved their shoot and its biodiversity and benefited other bird species and wildlife.
The Purdey Awards are open to shoots of any size or type within the UK.
A prize fund of £12,500 is shared between Gold, Silver, Bronze and Special Award winners decided by a panel of judges in October. The award ceremony for the Purdey Awards will then take place the following month.
Entries can be made by individuals, syndicates, estates, farm shoots and wildfowling clubs. There are conditions attached to entries by commercial shoots.
Entry forms for the Purdey Awards can be obtained free of charge from James Purdey & Sons Ltd, 57-58 South Audley Street, London, W1K 2ED, by telephoning 020 7499 1801 or by emailing purdey.awards@purdey.com
Richard Purdey, who has organised the Purdey Awards since 1999 said: “Twenty-fourteen, being our bi-centenary, is a very special year for Purdey’s and I hope we will attract a record number of entrants to our annual awards.”
NOTE: Entries must be completed and sent to the GWCT in Fordingbridge no later than May 12, 2014.
