£190k raised for Great Ormond Street at charity shoot
Shooters raised £190k for two charitable causes at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School earlier this month.
The Royal Berkshire Shooting School (RBSS) has raised £190,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and Marie Curie at its 20th annual charity clay pigeon shoot.
The event, which has been chaired each year by Andrew Taee, fundraising patron for both charities, saw 25 teams of four Guns compete in a morning’s clay shooting in the Berkshire hills. The winning team comprised Kevin Howland, James Bradley, Charlie Ray and Les Ray (pictured above with Andrew Taee).
Celebrity entertainment
A further 100 guests joined them in the afternoon and were treated to an air display by current world aerobatic champions The Blades, with live music from the Patriot Girls and entertainment from comedian Rory Bremner.
Guests also enjoyed a champagne reception and three-course lunch, with speeches by Sally Monger-Godfrey, a Marie Curie nurse, and Cameron Stewart, who underwent major brain surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital when he was 10 years old. This was followed by a live fundraising auction.

Dylan Williams, managing director of the RBSS, commented: “We are very proud to have hosted this event. It is an accolade to Andrew Taee and his team that each and every year guests have such fun raising much-needed funds for these incredibly worthy causes.”
As well as RBSS, partners for the shoot this year included Stratstone of Mayfair, James Purdey & Sons and Moët-Hennessy. Over the past 20 years, this annual event has raised millions of pounds for charity through generous donations.
