Once the preserve of spy films, the military and Batman, night vision is now an affordable option for anyone who wants to see clearly in the dark. Although obviously good for security and surveillance, night vision opens up a whole new dimension when it comes to spotting wildlife. Night vision comes in three forms: binoculars which you through with both eyes and tend to give the best image but can be bulky to carry, monoculars which are more portable and googles, which you wear for hands-free operation.
