For the uninitiated, ‘blogs’ is short for ‘web logs’, which are online diaries. So it would seem appropriate at this point to talk about the Countryside Alliance’s (CA) 10th anniversary party at the Guards Museum, which I went to last night.
I think the CA has to be one of the most sociable out of the countryside organisations. Before joining ST I used to work at the CA, and last night was a bit of a reunion of old and new members of staff.
The reception was mainly for parliamentarians, however, and CA president, Baroness Mallalieu, gave an excellent and moving speech about the impact of the 1997 Hyde Park Rally, thanking the various MPs for their support over the past decade.
On the way home I had a good chat with the taxi driver, who in typical London cabby style thought Tony Blair was a complete idiot, likening him to Hitler.
Why is that you might ask?
Well, it’s because they both banned hunting and smoking!
