British Shooting Show announces additional Manchester event
The extra exhibition will take place in the second largest event space outside London
The British Shooting & Countryman Show will take place at Event City in Manchester on 19-20 September 2020 and on 18th & 19th September 2021, 17th and 18th September 2022
The September event was originally due to be held in Liverpool but was banned after action by the Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson. A subsequent venue was found in Manchester at Event City, which has sufficient space to host the trade and retail stands and around 35,000 visitors from the UK and Europe.
John Allison, managing director of The British Shooting Show stated: ‘’Our additional show in the north will again see manufacturers exhibiting along with retailers, plus a massive 30 lane indoor airgun range, 24 practical pistols ranges, demonstration arenas and Fieldsports TV with live broadcast throughout the show.‘’
Anglers included
The event is called The British Shooting & Countryman Show because it will also include fishing equipment.
Visitors to the show can expect an increasing line-up of exhibitors from continental Europe including Finland and Norway due to the weak pound. A spokesman explained: “It’s cheaper for them to exhibit in the UK and much better value. We’re selling a lot of stands to companies wanting to come across and it’s all looking very promising.”

Expansion of the existing NEC event
The Great British Shooting Show has been established at the NEC Birmingham for the past 12 years. Many new products are launched there (and launches are also planned at the September Manchester show). Visitors can see and handle brand new guns, rifles and accessories for the first time. John Allison comments: “Once a new product has been launched and produced retailers will start taking stock typically towards the end of August, making September an ideal time for new products to become available for purchase by show visitors’’.
The 2020 British Shooting Show takes place again at the NEC Birmingham from 14-16 February 2020.
