Durham autism charity supplied with Polaris

ATV specialist Polaris has partnered with the North East Autism Society (NEAS) and is supplying a Diesel Ranger to support the everyday operations of the charity.

From its 77-acre site on New Warlands Farm in County Durham, NEAS provides practical agricultural training, work placements and job opportunities to around 60 autistic adults each year.

New Warlands Farm manager Dave Wilde commented: “We aim to make a positive impact on the lives of autistic people, teaching them about farming and agriculture and helping them move towards meaningful employment.”

NEAS promotes sustainable farming, keeping rare whitefaced woodland sheep and creating wetlands to help boost numbers of endangered water voles and waders. The supply of the Polaris Diesel Ranger to the farm has been “invaluable”, and Mr Wilde said: “I tried a few utility vehicles, but none could match the Ranger’s speed, tight turning radius, or rugged build.”

He uses the Ranger to move animal feed, tools and fencing materials, as well as towing livestock trailers and salt spreaders. “The Ranger gives us that peace of mind, and it’s comfortable for multiple passengers, making it ideal for our work.”
