IWA Outdoor Classics 2020 rescheduled for September 2020
The large trade show for the shooting community will now take place in early autumn
The IWA Outdoor Classics 2020 exhibition has been rescheduled for 3-6 September 2020 in Nuremberg, Germany. It was previously due to take place in early March but was postponed due to fears about the spread of coronavirus. Journalists from Shooting Times, Sporting Gun and Shooting Gazette attend the event annually to cover the news of the latest guns, ammunition and hunting products being launched.
A press release from the organiser was issued yesterday with the announcement, stating: “We expressly thank all customers, partners and media representatives for the understanding they have shown regarding our decision to postpone IWA Outdoor Classics 2020. We are pleased about the high level of commitment in the industry – after intensive deliberations and numerous positive discussions with national and international customers, we have chosen the new date at the beginning of September also for the following years”.
IWA Outdoor Classics is a key exhibition for hunting and shooting, with equipment for outdoor and for civilian and official security applications.
Products launched last year at IWA to the trade included Harkila’s award-winning heat jacket, the Browning 525 New Sporter One, Hull Sporting 100 ammunition, the MTC 12×50 SWAT Prismatic scope and the Weihrauch HW100 Bullpup.
Matt Clarke, editor of Sporting Gun commented: “IWA is the premium shooting show in Europe and you get to see all the new launches there from all over the world which would be of our interest to our readers. There’s nothing like seeing a product up close and getting your hands on it to get a good of idea of its performance. IWA is an excellent exhibition to attend because everything new is on one place, with manufacturers on hand to ask questions.”
The organisers have now decided to move the event from March to September permanently in future years.
