Shooting businesses have royal warrants renewed

HM The King Charles III and Queen Camilla issued almost 400 companies with royal warrants in December, including a number of businesses associated with shooting and fieldsports.

Royal warrants are awarded to suppliers of goods to the royal households and senior members of the royal family. Each warrant is granted for up to five years at a time and a total of 386 were renewed last month. These include Hull Cartridge, which has held a warrant since 1992. Command Pest Control; Game and Country Ltd; Oakbank Game and Conservation; Shield Pest Control UK and Trustach Shooting Supplies also had their warrants renewed until 2029.

Other renewals included game butcher Aubrey Allen, shooting stocking maker Wendy Keith Designs and Witham Group, which supplies gun oils, lubricants and paints to estates, including Sandringham.

One notable omission, however, was Swarovski UK. The optical branch of the well-known group was a long-standing favourite of Queen Elizabeth II and was granted its first royal warrant in 2019.

But the company’s warrant expired and Swarovski UK joins Cadbury as one of the 16 brands not to receive a renewal. Buckingham Palace does not give reasons nor comment on decisions about royal warrants.
