Look no further. The Royal Berkshire Shooting School is holding a series of Young Shots workshops - perfect Easter holiday activities
Young Guns in the making and those keen to improve their skills will jump at the chance to spend some of the holidays at The Royal Berkshire Shooting School on a Young Shots workshop.
Designed for youngsters aged 10-18 years old, the courses give a solid and comprehensive introduction to shooting, with knowledgeable and experienced instructors.
The courses are all-day (so make for perfect Easter holiday activities) and the youngsters are dropped off in the morning. The workshops are based at the award-winning Pangbourne school where the children receive expert tuition in clay shooting, airgun shooting, aspects of gundog handling and fly fishing as well as a visit to the local game dealer, Vicar’s.
It’s part of the education of a Young Shot to know how to prepare and cook the game they shoot and this course is designed to encourage budding young game cooks.
Dylan Williams, managing director of the Royal Berkshire Shooting School comments: ” It’s harder for youngsters nowadays to learn to shoot, work with a dog and dress game than it was. This course aims to address that and is a combination of the social side of shooting and education – a lot of the youngsters come with their school friends. We’re trying to create the next generation of shooters.”
Safety, etiquette and sportsmanship
Each workshop also covers safety, licencing, shooting etiquette and sportsmanship. Each child will also receive lunch and a certificate of attendance. The workshops are designed for all children – from complete newcomers to those that come from shooting families but want to brush up on skills.
They are certain to be popular and would make excellent birthday presents. Cost: £150 per attendee
