Viking Arms presents Mossberg
The iconic US brand Mossberg is distributed in the UK by Viking Arms Lt through its specialist dealer network.
Shooting Times reviewer Lewis Potter says of Mossberg: “The products of O. F. Mossberg & Sons, always known simply as Mossberg, have, since the founding in 1919, gained a reputation for practical designs where simplicity and reliability are outstanding features.”
Through dealers, purchasers can shoot Mossberg shotguns for game and clay shooting as well as championship shooting.
Championship shooting
In marksmanship accuracy, power and speed are essential. That’s why Mossberg works with world champion shots at every stage of the product development and innovation process. Practical shooting champions Team Williamson use the match winning shotgun Mossberg 940 JM Pro supplied by Viking Arms to consistently achieve superb results in world-wide competitions. Most recently, they showed off the shotguns’ versatility and performance at the UKPSA Level 3 Welsh Championships this year.

New in 2022
Early in 2022 Viking will receive the highly anticipated new Mossberg 940 PRO FIELD Autoloading Shotgun. Dealers and shooters can pre-register their interest here to be the first to get their hands on this shotgun when it hits the UK.
Key features include a durable gas system that allows for up to 1500 rounds between cleanings, corrosion-resistant internal parts, bevelled loading port, elongated elevator, and anodised follower for smooth operation. Outside, an adjustable stock allows for 1.25″ of LOP flexibility, the Mossberg signature texturing for a secure grip, and a front fibre optic sight helps keep you on target.
Rifles
For vermin control and stalking Mossberg has created some world renowned rifles which are also available through Viking approved dealers.
The Mossberg MVP LC is a best seller, available in 223 rem, 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 win. See how the MVP LC rifle performed on the range in this video.
“This has proved the most popular of the whole Mossberg range of rifles in the UK,” says Andy Norris from the distributors, Viking Arms. “It’s easy to see why. It’s light and manoeuvrable, and you can extend the stock to full length when you’re outside the vehicle.”
Shotguns
In August 1961, Mossberg introduced the 500 Series pump-action shotgun, which eventually became one of the most-produced sporting firearms in the world.
The Mossberg Model 500 pump-action .410 needs little introduction, at least to British gamekeepers and pest controllers. For them it’s an invaluable working tool, especially when fitted with the Hushpower moderator, which cuts the sound of the little .410 cartridge down to a mere pop.
Here’s Andy Norris of Viking Arms putting the shotgun through its paces.
Sporting Gun contributor and wildfowler Tom Sykes recently reviewed the Mossberg 500 pump-action on the foreshore and said: “I have been immensely impressed with this gun and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great workhorse or even a gun for a bit of fun. Having borrowed it from the team at Viking Arms, I will be buying this Mossberg to add to my arsenal. I am sure that it will last a lifetime, which makes it particularly good value for money. I can’t wait to try it for summer vermin control.”
Owners of the Mossberg brand can be confident that they have bought a gun or rifle with a true pedigree, with the updates and features demanded by today’s shooter.
