Crow shooting with raptor decoys

Raptor decoys are the most common predator decoys on the UK market, they come in a variety of different sizes and species, the most common being eagle owls, peregrines and little owls. These all produce the same effect when used in the right situation. The eagle owl decoy in this video relies on their natural instinct, as crows will still see it as a threat, despite no eagle owls being present in the local area.

This video shows Tom Sykes using an owl decoy and crow rag decoys on cut grass. His hide was set up on the hill so he had a good vantage point over the birds, but the swirling wind made decoying with raptor decoys difficult.

It also shows Tom set up in cover crop on a flight line with nothing in particular to drag the crows within range. The owl decoy was set up on the fence with a handful of crow decoys on the fencepost looking at it and some scattered around the vegetation. One of the crow decoys was on a floater, aimed right at the owl as if it was mobbing it. Tom also used a teal call to attract attention from birds in the distance.
